Having studied art in high school, my passion for painting came early in life. Throughout the years I have concentrated first on oil as a medium, then watercolor and more recently, pastel. I have studied with nationally known artists Zoltan Szabo, Terry Madden, and Stephen Quiller, and Colorado artists Jackie McFarland, Buffalo Kaplinski, Pat B. Clarke, and many others. My growth as an artist has been aided by the style and wisdom of these generous artists.
While I complete many paintings in my studio, plein air painting provides the inspiration. There is no substitute for painting from life and the great outdoors. Great art is visual poetry using colors, shapes, and values to express a sensitivity and emotion.
