Your furnished name tags should to be worn to each meeting - if you wear your furnished name tag and your signup number is called out by a guest, you win $5!  The Hello stickíem tags are only for guests!!!  Patricia Montano won the $5 and Carmen Freeman won the raffle.

The PROGRAM this month is a change. Terrie Lombardi will be our demonstrator in pastel. Terrie is a member of the Colorado Pastel Society and many other organizations and her artwork has appeared in several magazines, one being the Southwest Art. She will tell us more where her paintings are exhibited. Muriel Jelsma, who was going to be our demonstrator this month is still having troubles with her wrist that she broke last year.

Review of last months program and workshop: The program in February was a watercolor demo given by Scott Ronzio. His subject was a resting tiger (portrait of) and several tips, hints and pointers on the use and painting with watercolors. A new product on the market (for watercolor) is Acqua Cover that is like gouache for highlights, whiskers, etc. Since it is made with paper, it comes in various colors (all white, however), made for Arches paper (both bright white and regular) and several other brands of paper. He gets his supply from Cheap Joeís. Once the product dries on your paper it is not movable with water, etc. He stresses VALUE as all artists stress.

The workshop that was held on Saturday, February 26, was a blast for everyone who attended. The subject was encaustic and taught and demoed by Judy Patti. She brought enough wax, irons and paper for everyone. Along with her supplies she demonstrated excellent examples of just how fast, etc one can make a painting - 30 - 45 seconds. Donuts were brought by Rachel Newbauer and the club furnished the coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There were critiques and Judy furnished all of us with corners (mat corners) so we could ëfindí a picture within a picture - oh, it was exciting. Everyone came away with several finished paintings and Judy was kind enough to mat those we felt were worthy. Pictures from this workshop will be at the March meeting. BTW, Gay Curran did attend this workshop and it was wonderful to see her - she looks great.

Our web site is www.daagonline.com is up and running with Karl Johnson the manager of our website. To set up a member page, update your page, or have new photos taken of your artwork, you can bring them to a meeting -  they must be unframed and not shrink-wrapped. Be sure to call Joyce Madden at 303-771-2019 to tell her that you will be bringing paintings to that meeting (so she can bring her camera) A fee of $25.00 to each member will give that member a page of 6 paintings plus a bio. There are links to agencies, retail outlets (Meiningerís, etc), and organizations. Once your page is up and approved, your $25.00 is due. If you want to change one picture in your web site that is free, any more than that there is a flat fee of $25.00.

You need to get your updated resumÈs (forms are available) and photos of at least three (3) of your artwork to Rachel Neubauer and if you have something for the Historian book you can bring that along. Our History book is wonderful and if you havenít taken a look thru it, please do.

Out of courtesy for our demonstrators/speakers, please refrain from talking during the program. You have plenty of time to converse with your friends at the break, before and after the meeting.

Please keep the meeting room clean as you found it - also it would be helpful if you would put your chair back in its original position when you leave.
