GENERAL MEETING:  We will have our General Meeting on March 15th at 9:30 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 East Alameda Avenue. We meet on the third Saturday of every month except in July, August, and December. Enter through the east door on Fairfax Street, and feel free to bring friends to our meetings. Please remember to wear your nametag. If you are wearing your nametag and your sign-in number is called, you will win $5.00.

MARCH PROGRAM: Ann Hanscom will demonstrate monoprinting, using Ernestine Schissler’s method. We will all participate in this demo, and it should be most interesting. Ann will supply all materials, and we do not have to bring anything extra. This demo will not be a workshop; the meeting will last until noon as usual.

FEBRUARY PROGRAM: Rob Gratiot gave us an excellent critique with many very helpful suggestions to members regarding their art.

BOARD MEETING: The next DAAG Board Meeting will take place March 21st at 3:00 p.m. at Rosemary Weiler’s house.

REFRESHMENTS: Floy Walberg and Dick Lutz will supply refreshments to the March meeting. Rosemary McGibbon and Millie Wilner will supply refreshments in April.

EXHIBITS: The Botanic Gardens show will start on Sunday, April 13th and end on Friday, April 18th. Bring your framed paintings between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. to Mitchell Hall, where they will be judged. You may enter three framed paintings, and your registration form must be sent to Rosemary Weiler by APRIL 1st. A $5.00 fee is required for each painting. If you would like, you can give Rosemary your registration sheet and money at the March meeting. Bin work, small paintings, and potpourri can be registered and paid for on April 13th at the Botanic Gardens. We need people to help us hang the show. We are going to need to do it fast, with only 45 minutes to get every painting up! The more people we have, the faster it can go up, so please volunteer to help hang. We also need people to sit the show, so please sign up at the March meeting.

We are expecting to have a show at Montview Presbyterian, but the dates are not finalized yet.

We are also expecting to have a fall show at the Driscoll Center at D.U. This show will probably be in September, but the date is not definite yet.

APRIL PROGRAM: Sharon Hann will be doing a printing demo, which should be quite interesting. She is calling this a “brain exercise” and members will be participating. She is going to bring all the supplies, but members will be asked to bring sketchbooks and the media of their choice. There will be more information in the April newsletter. This meeting will not be a workshop, and will last until noon as usual.

CHANNEL SIX: Eight members brought paintings for the auction to the last General Meeting. There will be an art preview party at Channel Six on April 4th.

WORKSHOPS: The Chuck Danford workshop has been canceled. Only a few people signed up.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE: We need three people to be on the Nominating Committee, as we are already getting ready for next year! Please volunteer for this most interesting job! It’s a wonderful way to get to know your fellow members.

WEBSITE: We need more members on our Website: daagonline.com. It’s very easy to do; you just give six photos of your work and $25.00 to Joyce Madden (or send them to Karl Johnson, our webmaster) and that’s all there is to it! Only 14 of our members are represented, and we would like to see everyone on there.
